4th Annual Special Needs Golf Outing

Grab your friends & family and come join GBPR for our 4th Annual Special Needs Golf Outing hosted by Tavern on the Green.  Benefits support grand Blanc Parks Special Needs programs.

Cost:  $65 per person

Date:  Sunday, September 11th

Time:  10am (Shotgun)

Format: 18 holes w/cart, 4 person scramble

Includes: Prizes, Food (Brunch & dinner) On course contest, Skins game (separate)

Special Needs Harvest Dinner & Dance

Wednesday, October 19 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Join us for a night of fall fun.  All special needs populations and their families are invited to attend. All ages!! Dinner, refreshments, music, harvest theme and dancing.  A photo opportunity will be available for $2.  Event will be held at GB Senior Activity Center, 12362 Pagel's Drive (off Holly Rd)

Cost: $2/ child (14 & under), $3 adults

   *Children and parents are encouraged to wear their      

     Halloween costume and dress up.

Special Needs Programs

Camp C.A.R.E.

GBPR will be offering its 3rd summer day camp for children with Autism.  Program will meet for six weeks, three days a week from 1:00-5:00pm at GB High School West.  Program will include structured activities, including crafts, art, music, games, sports, and a weekly field trip.  Children will be supervised in a 1:4 ratio by qualified and passionate GBPR staff.  All fees included in cost and is off-set by fundraisers and donations to GBPR throughout the year.   y

Ages: 8-16

Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Time: 1:00-5:00pm

Dates:  June 21-23, 28-30, July 5-7, 12-14, 19-21, 26-28

Cost: $250 includes camp t-shirt & field trips

Minimum Registration:  8 kids

Maximum:  16 kids

2011 Camp Care Enrollment Form

** Must register no later than June 4th. There will be a parent meet n' greet with the camp staff prior to the start of the program.

 

Swim Exploration 
Join GBPR for this fun water program for children with special needs.  Participants will learn basic stroke skills, reinforced by fun activities in the water.  Program is designed for children and a Parent/ Buddy (16+) to be in the pool with the child.

Register by June 11th

Cost: $40- Residents, $52- Non-residents

Dates: Mondays, June 20 - August 1 (6 weeks) *No class July 4

Time: 3:30pm - 4:05pm

Ages: 4-16

Location: GBHS West Pool

 

VIP Rock N' Rhythm   

Children with cognitive or physical impairments will sing, learn and play music with a professional music teacher who is experienced in singing and instruments.  Children will be guided and inspired to create their own music, hands-on, with acoustic and electronic songs played on teh radio and in Nashville! Children will develop fine motor movement, sing songs, dance, learn the joy of rhythm and more. Join the fun, feel the rhythm, let's make some music! Parent/ Guardian is required to be present and is encouraged to participate.  This is an inclusion program.        

Ages: 4-10

Time: 9:30am - 10:30am

Day: Mondays  *No class July 4

Dates: June 20 - July 25, 5 weeks

Location: GBHS West (classroom TBD)

Price: $36 resident - $41 non resident

Max Enrollment: 10 children

Minimum Enrollment: 5 Children

 

VIP Sports-A-Palooza

Are you looking to get your child active this summer?  It is NOT to late!  Join GBPR staff for our 3rd summer of "All-Sports" program.  We will concentrate on 4 sports during this 8 week program.  Children will learn basic skills reinforced by fun drills and games.  This program is for cognitive and physically impaired children who are able to function at a 1:6 ratio.  Parent/guardian is required to be present and is strongly encourages to participate. Please bring a glove (t-ball only) , water and wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes (no sandals).  All equipment provided.

Week 1-2:  Basketball (courts near large pavilion)

Week 3-4:  Outdoor floor hockey (hockey courts)

Week 5-6:   Soccer (outfield of field 6)  no cleats

Week 7-8:   T-ball (field 6)

Cost: $65 ( includes T-shirt)

Ages: 6-20

Day: Thursdays

Time: 6:30pm - 7:30pm

Dates:  June 23 - August 11 (August 11 only- 5:30 -6:30 with BBQ following)

Location:  Bicentennial Park

Ages:  6-20 years old

 

6th Annual End-of-the-Summer BBQ

Thursday, August 11 6:30pm - 7:30pm

Enjoy a night out with your family and friends at Bicentennial Park Large Pavilion.  Event will feature burgers-n-dogs, chips, refreshments, music, Splash Pad and more.  Come ready to have some fun! This event is open to children with special needs and families/ friends (all ages). Admission to the Splash Pad included with dinner.  We will also be awarding our "Sports-A-Palooza" players with a special award to finish their 8 week season.

Cost: $2/ child (12 & under) $4/adults (covers the cost of food)

 

VIP Gymtastic

This is a special needs child only program, parents should drop children off to play games, do a craft, light snack and more... 2 hours of GYM fun!! Event is limited to 20 children. Must register and pay in advance.

Cost: $8 per child

Ages: 7-18

Day: Friday nights

Location: United Church of Christ Gym (Corner of Belsay & Perry)

Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Dates: October 7 - Register by October 3

             November 4- Register by October 31

             December 2- Register by November 28

 

VIP Indoor Soccer

Children with cognitive and/ or physical impairments will enjoy with instructional program that will promote physical fitness and fun by playing indoor soccer.  GBPR staff will teach basic skills, run drills and play fun games.  Please dress in comfortable gym clothes and bring water. All equipment provided.  Parents are required to be present and are encouraged to participate.

Cost: $40

Ages: 5-18

Time: 5:30pm -6:30pm

Day: Wednesday

Dates: October 5 - November 16    *No class Oct. 19

Location: TBD
